R4i-SDHC Firmware upgrade available

by admin on May 3, 2009

If you bought the R4i Revolution Upgraded for your Nintendo DSi, then you may want to note that the R4i firmware has been upgraded in the last few days.

There is a new R4i kernel (v1.06b) available for pretty much all languages, downloadable from http://www.r4i-sdhc.com.

If you want to know why you should buy an R4i, have a read of the following pages : R4i Adapter Nintendo DS/DSi | updated R4 or our own page R4i Adapter for Nintendo DSi.

Other ‘equivalent’ cards are available, but we recommend the R4i card from our own personal flawless and easy experience.

If you don’t already have an R4i DSi adapter, then you can buy one from Memorybits or their dedicated R4i website at a 10% discount when you use our exclusive PR10 discount code. You may actually use this exclusive discount against ALL your purchases, not just against the R4i DSi Adapter.

Does it definitely work with v1.4 on the DSi?

No …. it seems increasingly likely that old cards can not be brought back to life where the user has a DSi with firmware at 1.4 or above. It appears that the boot code would need to be updated and apparently this cannot be done with a simple download.

However, the new R4i manufactured since …. and available from R4i.co.uk … are definitely now compatible with the Nintendo v1.4 firmware.
